After moving into a new home, the first few weeks will see you tiptoe around it to keep everything in its place and keep it tidy. Put recurring entries on your phone or in your diary to do these things, and you’ll be far more likely to get them done this way. Another thing that’s important to stay on top of is the different suppliers that provide things to your home such as water, electricity and your cable/internet provider. By doing this every year, you can make sure that you get the best deals and stops you paying too much for your utilities. Changing your utilities can be done with a simple click, so there are no excuses not to shop around for the best supplier. You may even find there are incentives for choosing a new supplier which makes it worth your while to switch.
Keep your paperwork organized
Just like at work, paperwork can start to pile up at home which can make it difficult to find an important statement or account information. Implementing a system to organize your paperwork will make it much easier to find all of those important documents and make sure you keep paperwork to a minimum. You could set some time aside every 1-2 months to help you stay on top and know when it’s time for a clear out.
By taking steps to stay on top of your new home, you’ll find it much easier to manage – keeping your stress and work levels low!
