A while ago I was sent the board game CAMP to review. Designed for people ages 5 and up this game is a great way to bring families together. The object of the game is to be the first person to make it back to the campfire. You do so by answering questions about the outdoors.
I love anything that will get kids doing something other then sitting in front of the TV or playing video games and that is just what this game was designed for as you can see in this quote from their website.
“With the average child watching over 20 hours a week of television, and with statistics showing violent images shown on t.v. reaching over 8,000 per child, Education Outdoors Inc. has been embraced by families that long for a refreshing change in the types of products available to their children. In a very short time, CAMP has received excellent support locally in Michigan, as well as nationally by selling over 1000 games in its first month. “It is our mission to bring families together to interact and learn about the outdoors.”
The game is a great way to get together and learn about the outdoors when you can’t get outdoors. I love that there are four levels of questions. This makes it a great game for families to play together and each person be able to play on their level.
I like that up to 8 players can play at a time. I plan on sending this with the little guy to daycare this summer. I also like that the game doesn’t take a long time to play, we played in 20 minutes or less, great for the little guys with short attentions spans.
The Camp Board Game costs $24.99 and you can purchase it right off the Camp Board Game Website. When you compare this to the cost of a video game and take into account not only are you learning something but your spending time together. I think it’s a great value.
Although I was sent product to test for this review all of the opinions on the product are my own.
