There’s nothing better than family life, and as manic as it can be us parents wouldn’t change it for the world. These are the days of our kids childhood, the years that will shape them as people for the future- and so it’s all about making our days as happy as possible. One thing you can do to make family life easier and more fun is by making some changes around the home. Here are a few upgrades your family will love!
A pool is a fantastic addition to a family home if you have the space outside. The perfect place to relax outside together when the weather is warm, it’s a good way to get in some low impact exercise and kids can invite their friends over and have pool parties. Buy some inflatables and put on some music and it’s something that kids and teens are always going to love. A pool can be expensive but can add significant value to your home, plus if you look into the best pool covers on the market you will cut down your cleaning and maintenance time massively. If you have a large garden and it’s not currently being used to it’s best potential, this could be an upgrade you could consider if your budget is bigger. You could even have a pool with a hot tub attached, have water fountains and other extras added too for ultimate luxury.
A Chillout Room
A place kids or teens can relax, play games and socialise with their friends is beneficial for both you and them. If you have a couple of kids and they only have small bedrooms, creating one large shared space for socialising could be a good option. You could convert the loft or basement, or even have a garden room put up. These are fully insulated so act like normal rooms, but are cheaper than an extension and you don’t usually need planning permission either. They can be soundproofed so if you have noisy kids or teenagers who like to mess around and do things like play instruments you still have peace and quiet. Put in some comfy sofas, a tv and games machine, some speakers for their ipod or phone to listen to music, you could even put in a pool table or ping pong table if you have the space. Either way, it gives you more space and peace in the house and gives them a place they can relax or mess around.
An Extra Bathroom
How many arguments and disagreements in the family come about due to people fighting over the bathroom in the morning? When you have a busy household and everyone is getting ready for work, school or university it can be a struggle. One way round this would be to have an extra bathroom installed in the home. It could be an ensuite in your master bedroom, or you could be generous and have it installed in your teenagers room- especially if they are the one that hogs the bathroom. At least that way the family bathroom is freed up.
