Recently I attended an event in NYC for the Verizon Wireless Lifestyle Blogger program. We were introduced to Home Phone Connect, A way to replace your home phone company with Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless offered us the chance to try it out and I was excited to do so.
I live in Maine and a few years ago Fairpoint took over our home phone system. There was a lot of question as to whether or not Fairpoint could handle such a big service area. I don’t believe I am the only one to say that they can’t. Because there is an elderly lady where I reside getting rid of the home phone and switching to only cell phone is not an option. This seemed like a perfect way to ditch Fairpoint for good.
There is no broadband or internet required to use this device. You can use it with your existing home phone. No need to buy a new one. The set up was very easy. All you do is plug your phone into the device and then plug it in to the wall. How simple is that?
I called my friend before I hooked this up and told her I was hooking it up. When I called her back she told me the call I made through the Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect was much better quality then the other was.
I have been using it for a few weeks now and am very impressed with it. It is cheaper then my existing plan through Fairpoint. The plan includes USA calling, Caller ID, Call Forwarding, 3-Way Calling, Voice mail and E911 support. At only $20 a month this is a great bargain.
Don’t worry about having a new phone number. You can have your old one transferred over. I love the fact that, because this is considered a cell phone you don’t have to worry about telemarketers. YAY. I love this.
Because I live in the woods in Maine on of my concerns was what would happen if we lost power. I was happy to see that the device has a battery back up that will last for over 30 hours.
Afraid you will miss an important call while you are away from home? Bring your phone with you. That’s right just bring the device with you to your hotel and you can plug in the phone to get the calls from home.
Anywhere you can connect to the net you can use your phone.
The only disadvantage, that I have found, to this service it that it is not compatible with Fax Machines DVR service, credit card machines, home security systems or medical alert services.
There are a couple prices for the device on the Verizon Wireless Site and this time. If you are looking to try it out for awhile you can purchase the device for $99. This is great if you want to use it as a pay as you go device. If you are as fed up as I am with your current phone service, and ready to commit to a new plan, the device is free with a 2 year contract.
Over all I am 100 percent happy with this product and the service it provides.
As A Verizon Lifestyle Blogger I received this product to test and write about.
Though they provided the item all opinions of the item are my own and 100 percent honest.
